Regina and Dave Holt

Regina Jay (1872-1913) was the youngest daughter of Bridget and Wesley Mack Jay. She was 19 when she married Dave in 1891. After Regina's death at age 41, he remarried Sallie.

 

At the time of the 1910 census, Regina was 37, and Dave was 41. Dave's race is listed as Mulatoo and Regina and the children as Black. The oldest child, James, was 18, and the youngest (Dave Jr) was 4. The children are all two years apart in age. They lived in the Saluda Township 6.

Dave was a landowner and a successful farmer. He owned his own saw mill and cotton gin.

 

Regina nd Dave had eight children:
