Alice Jay & George Allen

Alice Jay was the daughter of Bridget and Mack Jay. She married George Allen, whose people were believed to have been enslaved by John G. Allen on a modest-sized farm. According to the 1850 census, he had 12 enslaved people on his property.

Alice and George farmed a large tract of land where they raised six children. James (Mary Wilson), Luther, Bridgette (George Evans), Julia (Hampton Wilson), George, and Clinton

Alice died sometime in the early 1920s. George was said to be a fun, outgoing person. He eventually left SC and migrated to Washington, DC, in the 1920s.
